Racing can get expensive. There are many items that need to be taken care of just to get out to a race. The cost
of the initial build is always significant but it is maintenance and travel costs of racing that generally have racers
seeking out potential sponsors.

A four man crew in just lodging and food will run us approximately $800 for one weekend of racing. Diesel fuel
and tow rig maintenance runs another $700. Race fees and crew gate fees usually amount to another $250. So a
racer will spend $1,750 just to get to the track and he hasn't even made a pass down the drag strip yet.

We all love the sport of drag racing but take all this and multiply it by 6 races and you can understand why
sponsorship is so very important in motor sports today.
